Attention MINI-MARATHONERS in training!

An absolute must for those training for the Mini!

Whether you are walking or running, it is a perfect complement to your marathon training program on your “off days…” It is important to while training, to “feed” your muscles with not only good nutrients but with good movement and prepare your body for the BIG DAY. Lack of stretching and/or neglecting to strengthen core muscles will keep you from reaching your full potential, and worse, could result in injury. Keeping you from crossing that finish line.

This class is designed to help you get there and to feel good the entire way there! It will help you build muscle endurance and stamina - just what every marathon runner needs! Targeting core muscles, building strength in small muscle groups that running simple cannot get alone. As well as stretching tired and overused “superficial” muscles (your larger muscle groups). Using a combination of Pilates based moves and exercises along with a bit of Yoga and basic Core-Strengthening Calisthenics - this class will simultaneously strengthen and stretch your body into exactly what you want it to be the day before the race: STRONG AND READY.

Think of your body as a machine - it cannot run unless well-oiled. Think of the oil as stretching: If you do not stretch properly, the machine cannot run smoothly and efficiently and is more likely to have kinks along the way. Think of the machine parts as your muscles: If you do not strengthen and build endurance for the parts, the machine cannot run to its full potential and it will “give out” quicker. And, lastly, and most importantly, think of all the parts that make up this machine. Hundreds. Running/Walking alone will target your largest muscle groups, over and over and over, leaving behind smaller muscle groups aka “core” muscles. Therefore, only operating to about 1/2 to 3/4 of its functioning ability. Imagine if you could have EVERY single part working in unison to run the machine.

Think about it. It is a true fact that your body automatically uses larger muscle groups when exercising, you have to learn to train and incorporate the smaller ones…Join us in our class especially designed to teach you how to recruit ALL of your muscles so that you too may run as a lean, mean Marathon Machine!

BOOT CAMP PILATES! Burn those holiday calories with this fat burning and calorie zapping class! Join us at 10 am as we sweat out those turkey dinners…burn anywhere from 300 to 800 calories in one hour! This class will combine cardio and Pilates moves - and will incorporate all of the Pilates Apparatus, including the Reformer, Spring Board, Spine Correctors and Wunda Chairs - and more!
